Meeting the Gladiators and Fumbling in the Ruins - Day 7 Part 4

It was near lunchtime after doing sightseeing at the Roman Forum and our next stop was the Mouth of Truth (La Bocca della Verità). But along the way, we managed to see a couple of nice buildings such as the Ministry of Trade, a Church and a mini Pantheon.. hehehe By the way, HH had a panini and I had pizza for lunch!

As we were queuing up, I took a shot of a wall filled with words that I can't make out any sense of it. But it looks.. quite serious. hahaha

Next up, we left the Colosseum area and then headed to the opposite side to visit the park (aka Palatine Hill) and then the Roman Forum.


When we were right outside Palatine Hill, there were some renovation works at the entrance but it was all ok on the inside and we enjoyed a good stroll in the park with some nice greenery and worthy architectures which were once a palace and then owned by rich Italian families.

Once we were done touring the ruins, we walked down the hill and our next attraction was the Roman Forum located just below the hill.

As we walked out of the Roman Forum, I was quite shocked to see a status of a very famous Roman as we walked along the street. Check it out!

Meeting the Gladiators and Fumbling in the Ruins - Day 7 Part 1

On Day 7, we planned to visit the Colosseum which is definitely one of the best tourist attractions and one of the favourite venues for film directors who are into Ancient Rome movies.

From our hostel, we took a public bus and was having a great time appreciating the morning streets of Italy as well as their nice architectural flavour with those intricate design & carvings of their buildings. Soon enough, we got off the bus and walked towards our destination.

After a short walk, we managed to catch a glimpse of the colosseum from afar and it got the both of us excited and we started to walk briskly towards it!

Inside the Pantheon - Day 6

The Pantheon is yet another famous Italian attraction and it is a temple for all gods of Ancient Rome! Apart from this, Raphael, a famous artist who painted the Sistine Ceiling, had his tomb housed inside the Pantheon.

Inside the Pantheon, we can see a dome-like structure with a circular opening to allow light in when we look up and we can see numerous columns. The dome symbolizes the arched vault of the heavens and the rest of the interior seemed to reflect a certain geometric pattern.
